Pure Barre St. Augustine brings Healthy Lifestyle to Local Community

Balancing mind, body and soul. Is it too much to expect?

Not according to Sarah Celek, owner of Pure Barre St. Augustine, a local fitness studio that’s changing people’s lives.

But Pure Barre is not a “gym”. Yes, they’re technically categorized as “boutique fitness” – but they’re so much more. “Pure Barre is a community. A lifestyle. It’s a place where all different fitness levels and backgrounds, ages and shapes can come together and get the best workout for them individually, together,” explained Sarah.

A place to build friendships, Pure Barre has always been a second home for Sarah since she first walked into a studio in Michigan more than a decade ago. A home that provided instant support from a group of women no matter how long she’d known them.

It was the sense of community that hooked Sarah after her very first class. While she had always been active, Sarah had never been passionate about fitness until Pure Barre. Without thinking about it, she found herself sticking to a routine and looking forward to each class. Shortly thereafter, Sarah’s goal became to one day open her own studio and provide this life-changing experience to others.

Sarah graduated from Michigan State, married, moved for her husband’s career (no stranger to fitness, he’s a former tight end for the San Francisco 49ers) and then settled in Cincinnati. In 2016 her vision to became a reality when she opened her first Pure Barre studio in Cincinnati West.

Meanwhile, over the years, Sarah regularly came to St. Augustine to visit her father. During her visits, she fell in love with the charm of the nation’s oldest city as well as the many local boutique yoga concepts.

The allure of the sunshine state and the community-driven, personal, go-local mindset – coupled, of course, with the opportunity to spend more time with her dad - made St. Augustine the perfect candidate for a Pure Barre studio. In 2019, the stars aligned and Sarah opened Pure Barre St. Augustine.

Located in the shopping center at 1000 S. Ponce de Leon, Pure Barre is now home to an incredible team of nine women – plus Sarah’s dad! - who are building the local Pure Barre community and changing clients’ lives.

Sarah says the St. Augustine Pure Barre community is unique because of the local lifestyle. “Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. There’s no rush in and out of the studio. Clients genuinely ask you and fellow members how their weekend was, and make plans to hang out outside of class,” she explains.

Through Pure Barre St. Augustine, Sarah’s vision has come to fruition. She has realized her goal for the studio to be a place that not only helps you with your physical fitness goals, but also empowers, inspires and motivates you mentally as well. Sarah has successfully created a studio atmosphere that promotes community, positivity and camaraderie.

Today, the St. Augustine studio provides a home to dozens who have embraced the Pure Barre community as part of their lifestyle. “The community comes together to support one another instead of checking the day’s workout off their task list,” Sarah said.

Sarah feels fortunate that she has a job about which she is passionate and that she can create an experience to positively affect and touch so many people’s lives. Sarah is rewarded daily by watching clients fall in love with Pure Barre for the first time, seeing them balance their lives and embrace the Pure Barre community as part of their lifestyle.

Ready to have your own life-changing experience? If you’re looking to balance your life, have fun and meet an amazing community of like-minded locals then Pure Barre is for you.
